Imagine you are in a room full of people. Each of them is working and all you can hear without your headphones is the sound of fast typing on the keyboards. In that situation, the only question that comes to my mind is: How does that make me feel? Lonely, happy, depressed or motivated?
You see, there are 7 billion people in this world that function differently in their work environment. Some of them want to work in a quiet atmosphere and some of them want to turn on the volume to 100 listening to their favourite jam.
Which one are you?
According to research made by Spotify, 61% of the people surveyed reported that listening to music at the workplace boosted their productivity and happiness. That’s why the answer to my question in the first paragraph will be: I feel depressed.
Listening to music at your workplace can be crucial in bringing your career to another level. Isn’t it better when you are learning about the latest trends in Graphic Design while listening to The Arctic Monkeys in the background? You feel that after you learn that, you will rock at creating some new logo for your client. And that is just a small part of how music can affect your job.
Think of all the possible ways music can help you make connections with colleagues. We all had a moment when we play a song we like and someone says: Hey girl, that’s also my jam! And that’s how you gained one more friend.
Music is nothing but a great lifter to your spirit. At the end of the day we all have different taste in music, but what gathers us all is the desire we have to enjoy in the rhythm of our favourite songs.
